If you could imagine the garden furniture that you would put in your own fantasy garden design for RHS Chelsea flower show then what would it be? I think I would choose one of the sumptuous, solid
teak garden benches. I would choose something traditional like the
Bramblecrest Bibury bench with its chunky dimensions and stout stature.
In my fantasy garden design I would place the teak garden bench under a garden arbour festooned with fragrant roses and honeysuckle. I would select climbing roses like Gertrude Jekyll with it’s pink blooms and outstanding fragrance or the repeat flowers of the tea rose fragrant ‘A Shropshire Lad’ both highly suitable for a garden arbour. The
teak garden furniture would be placed under the arbour over looking a tranquil garden pond with waterlilies and bull rushes. The little boat jetty would have a rope attached and the garden planting would sweep down to the water’s edge. It’s all sounding rather traditional but the
teak garden furniture I have selected really goes well with traditional style and design. Not sure if my design will meet with the high standards expected at RHS Chelsea flower show but I can but dream! © Copyright
